  • Overview

    This temporary position is part of the Technology Governance and Innovation team within Global Technology.  The successful temporary will be specifically focused on accelerating the migrations of SharePoint-2013 (SP-13) sites to SharePoint in the Microsoft Cloud (SP-MC), though some SharePoint 2007 (SP-07) work also may be required.  This is a temporary assignment for 5-8 months, depending on the sustained work load.

    The successful candidate will coordinate and/or conduct specific assigned migrations and document the related standard SAGE migration practices and specific site work practices managed in SharePoint. This latter task is baseline expert user and end-user guidance, generally in PowerPoint, rather than formal technical documentation.

    Candidates should be self-motivated and have an analytical approach with excellent attention to detail. The role requires frequent communication across SAGE which should be conducted in a professional and courteous manner. In particular, the candidate must be able to communicate technical content in a straightforward way to non-technical and untrained content coordinators in SAGE user departments.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will accelerate migration of SP-13 sites to the Microsoft Cloud by:

    • documenting standard procedures for non-complex migrations (including post-migration end-user “guidance/help” content);
    • coordinating SP-13 site clean-ups with business teams (as well as similar work with any remaining SP-07 sites);
    • performing technical tasks, based on the documentation, to implement the core SP-MC site content infrastructure appropriately on relevant sites/sub-sites, including Team sites, “Site Page” home pages, Site Pages and Site Assets content libraries management, etc;
    • coordinating SP-MC site content design, implementation and testing;
    • coordinating the migration event, including the migration work-session as well as updating content map links to the newly migrated content sources;
    • escalating issues as required.

      • Strong basic SharePoint “expert user” experience.  Familiarity with SharePoint in MS–Cloud and Office-365 are desirable but not essential.

      • Ability to plan, track and execute simple project plans for multiple concurrent department site migrations (focus on milestones rather than detailed tasks).
      • Ability to communicate in a consistently positive manner, in-person, by voice/phone and through informal media (email/texting).
      • College degree preferred though not required.
