The Senior Marketing Manager, eLearning will work with the Director of eLearning to launch Corwin’s new e-learning products. This individual will lead the development and implementation of new ideas and creative marketing strategies to launch a multi-channel marketing campaign for the product(s) and develop sales materials. Marketing experience with K12 professional development, online products, consumer marketing, and marketing automation software is required.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Marketing & Sales Strategy

  • Develop multi-channel strategy for the launch of the new e-learning product lines
  • Market products to the teacher audience as well as other key influencers
  • Continuously conduct market research to understand the buying cycle, market opportunities and key decision makers
  • Collaborating with marketing managers to develop strategies for cross-promotion of various product lines as appropriate
  • Be adept at using a variety of marketing strategies including email campaigns, direct mail, advertising, web promotion/SEO, social media, PR and lead generation campaigns
  • Utilize marketing automation software to develop trigger emails to nurture leads and help guide prospects through the buying cycle
  • Create a referral incentive program to create advocates and convert referred friends into repeat customers
  • Assist with lead generation, bundling strategies and providing effective sales direction
  • Partner with Universities and other sponsors to sell e-courses
  • Work with the Web team to develop the product website and e-commerce
  • Plan strategies to maximize booth traffic via promotions and advertising
  • Plan/develop/implement effective marketing programs on schedule and within budget for assigned programs and product lines
  • Take into account key product information, market information, and the competitive landscape, to create a schedule of marketing activities that will achieve sales goals
  • Collaborate with other teams to plan sales meetings and launch strategies
  • Support Corwin and SAGE Sales teams in responding to RFPs and preparing custom proposals
  • Assist with strategic planning and budgeting
  • Budget and forecast sales of assigned products and expenses on an annual and monthly basis


Market Research & Analysis

  • Continually develop product, market, and competitor knowledge through research, district visits, conventions, editorial, author, and customer communication
  • Continuously monitor the competition for product lines and train the sales team on the company’s competitive advantage
  • Provide relative input to editorial team on product content, market placement, pricing, projections, proposed titles, and other Professional Development products
  • Conduct market surveys and hold focus groups
  • Monitor sales and adjust marketing efforts to maximize profitability
  • Analyze marketing response and data in order to make adjustments to strategies


Product Development

  • Relay market needs, feedback, suggested improvements and timing requirements to Editorial and Production teams
  • Advise Editorial on new product development
  • Support strategic relationships with Associations and universities

Qualifications & Education

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Must have 5+Years of educational publishing experience
  • 5+ years of experience marketing online products desired
  • Experience launching online products
  • B2C experience
  • Email and online marketing experience
  • Adept at Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven project management and presentation skills
  • Experience effectively implementing campaigns across all of the promotional mixes
  • Superior planning and organizational skills
