The Channel Sales Manager is responsible for developing relationships and implementing sales strategies for Corwin to meet or exceed sales goals via 

• Promotional Resellers
• Retail Book Stores,
• school supply catalog companies
• distributor companies, and
• national associations

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following


• Sales

• Phone calls to Prospective book buyers
• Develop client database by researching the Internet
• Ask for client referrals
• Develop and maintains client relationships
• Create quotes which include pricing, availability, product codes and accurate shipping cost
• Offer discounts for volume purchases
• Serve as company representative at educational functions such as book fairs, association events, national conventions, and client visits
• Inform clients about new releases
• Promote Corwin’s titles through special promotions via direct mail, e-mail, phone calls
• Recommend titles to ensure clients needs are met
• Maintains product knowledge through discussions with editors and self-education
• Handle incoming calls from customers and prospects
• Return calls and answer emails in a timely manner to ensure client satisfaction
• Service the client to ensure impact, brand recognition and future buys
• Research client inquiries regarding price discrepancies, shortages, overages or replacements and present solutions
• Examine purchase orders for accurate processing
• Document phone conversations and e-mails in customer database (
• Maintain information about inventory and notify ordering department of titles needed
• Coordinate processes concerning orders being entered by Customer Care, released by Credit and shipped by Distribution
• Investigate and relay market feedback to Corwin, including Editorial and Marketing to identify trends, and report on competition and market intelligence.


Qualifications & Education

Include, but are not limited to, the following

• Excellent sales and relationship building acumen required
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, ACT, Internet, and
• 4+ years of sales and/or K-12 publishing experience
• 2+ years in K-12 book sales experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
