The role of the SAGE Video Marketing Manager is to develop and implement effective marketing programs for the SAGE Video product. The Marketing Manager will plan and execute marketing plans within a specified budget, accurately, and on time. The position requires 4+ years marketing or other job-related experience. This job requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively and deal with different personality types across multiple departments at SAGE.


The SAGE Video Marketing Manager handles various marketing tasks that will have a positive impact on current and potential business.  The Marketing Manager will also promote and/or administer company approved social media activities, including SAGE-owned blogs, and internal or external social networking web sites.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities



The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:


Act as US lead for SAGE Video and assigned digital products

  • Create and implement plans for direct mail,  non-direct mail (ie. flyers, banner ads, print ads, etc.), email, advertising, and conventions within budget guidelines and on time
  • Integrate new channels for promotions including Content Marketing  and Social Media
  • Oversee annual pricing proposal and implementation
  • Partner effectively with Editorial and Online Products to drive online product enhancements across all platforms
  • Regularly review sales results and measure against targets 
  • Gather and compile information and write marketing reports as needed
  • Contribute innovative ideas to achieving business objectives


Copywriting, Editing, Proofreading

  • Ensure quality writing, editing, and proofing of all promotional copy
  • Develop copy for corporate site, direct mail, non-direct mail, email, and online marketing avenues


Sales Support

  • Be a strategic partner with sales teams  to maximize sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales to roll out regional initiatives
  • Keep sales updated on changes to publishing schedule and news from the industry (awards, reviews etc.)


Conference Planning/Attendance

  • Attend conference launch meetings as requested.
  • Determine with marketing managers which materials to send to conferences; request any new non-direct mail jobs as needed
  • Travel to and represent company at 1-3 conventions each year
  • Set up and break down booth as scheduled
  • Conduct sales of product at booth, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery (to Customer Care) of any book or journal orders and inquiries
  • Arrange and host special events, as needed


Editor/Author/Customer Relations

  • Act as representative of the company when dealing with potential or existing customers and editors
  • When communicating with customers and editors, take appropriate actions to ensure they have a positive experience with and image of the company


Qualifications & Education


Special experience or qualifications or education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years marketing experience required
  • Experience writing marketing copy
  • Experience creating and executing marketing plans
  • Experience working across departments including sales
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior planning and organizational skills
  • Proven project management experience preferred
