  • Overview

    This position is open to current undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in publishing or product management. The intern will learn about publishing in general and also gain hands on experience in an editorial department working with digital product managers.



    This internship is expected to start in the month of February and the intern must be based in our Washington, DC offices (no remote work). Candidates must be current students. 

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Assisting various department personnel in helping support various aspects of the Product Management team’s digital product development
    • Helping align books to courses and assisting with RFPs from schools
    • Proofreading and accuracy checking materials 
    • Helping process, compile and organize subject matter expert information and assisting in other general tasks such as preparing companion site files for the production process
    • Researching topics, associations, trends, market data, etc.
    • Loading web content into SAGE’s content management systems and managing websites over the course of their life cycles


    Qualifications & Education

    Include, but not limited to, the following:


    • Must be a quick learner
    • Must be a current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in English, journalism, or
      publishing or pursuing a career in eLearning, digital publishing, or project management is preferred
    • One to two years of office experience preferred
    • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet
    • Experience working with a content management system preferred
    • Proven demonstration of high level of maturity and professionalism
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
