This is a temporary assignment scheduled to last six months. Submission of cover letter required.

 

The Product Marketing Assistant for Library Marketing is responsible for supporting and executing on directives given by Library Marketing Managers, to benefit strategic Library Marketing Initiatives related to product marketing. This position is expected to complete administrative tasks, assist in projects, and be responsible for designated support efforts, to be completed accurately and on time. This job requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks and be able to deal with varying work styles and requests. We are looking for a candidate that will be able to work, in-house, at our Thousand Oaks Conejo office.

 

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • General administration and project management of Library Marketing Manager assigned tasks.
  • Manage all Non-Direct mail projects as assigned, including liasing between marketing and the art department, managing passes, handling edits, and keeping all assigned Non-Direct mail jobs on schedule.
  • Support customer onboarding by sending promotional materials to libraries, managing customer lists for campaigns, and laising with the training team
  • Work within Excel to clean up data, check and verify data, mine websites for data, organize and present data as it is needed, to support library marketing projects.
  • Work within salesforce.com to manage the marketing lead loading process, ensuring clean leads without duplication, and general management of leads in salesforce.com (as directed by manager).
  • Compile data and other information; create attractive and effective reports; prepare, fact-check, edit presentations, correspondence, memos, charts, tables, graphs, slide shows, etc. in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Compile and write up market, competitive, and other research projects as assigned
  • Provide ongoing status on marketing tasks and priorities to direct Manager and other stakeholders
  • Ensure that marketing material adheres to established brand guidelines
  • Master and utilize all marketing databases (such as salesforce.com, COGNOS) and the online electronic platforms (i.e. sagepub.com), including library recommendation forms, banner advertisitng, etc.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications & Education

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • B.A. degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Advertising, English, or a related field in Social Sciences.
  • Experience working as a intern in a marketing department required.
  • Office environment work experience required.
  • Experience with social media for academic or professional use required.
  • Submission of a cover letter required.
  • Prior publishing internship or marketing experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, scheduling, problem solving skills, and exceptional organization skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to conduct logical analysis of marketing activities
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Excel, and feel comfortable with data, is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs in general
