  • Overview

    This Online/Digitial Products Intern will learn about publishing in general and also gain hands on experience in an editorial department working with digital product managers.


    This internship is paid, part time (20-25 hours per week during normal office hours). This poisition is expected to start in August and extend through the Fall semester. Candidates MUST be current students able to work out of our office in Washington, DC (remote work is not permitted).

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Assisting department personnel and supporting various aspects of the Product Management team’s digital product development
    • Assisting with new product initiatives and proposals
    • Helping prepare, compile, review, and organize website files.
    • Loading web content into SAGE’s content management systems and managing websites over the course of their life cycles
    • Researching topics, associations, trends, market data, etc
    • Proofreading and accuracy checking materials
    • Assist with gathering and updating internal training and support documents for video content production

    Qualifications & Education

    Include, but not limited to, the following:

    • Must be a current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Pursuing a degree or career in English, Journalism, Publishing, Digital Publishing, or Project Management is preferred. 
    • Must be a quick learner and problem solver
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • One to two years of office experience preferred
    • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Experience working with a content management system preferred
    • Experience working with digital media preferred
    • Experience working in video or media production (pre-production, preparation, on -set production, and/or poast production video editing and review) preferred
    • Proven demonstration of high level of maturity and professionalism
    • Strong interpersonal skills
