  • Overview

    The Visible Learning Product Manager, North America is responsible for managing product strategy and informing product development to deliver effective and engaging professional learning solutions for the pK12 market. Working across the research and development, conceptual, business planning, launch, and management phases of the product development lifecycle, the VL Product Manager is also responsible for implementing new directives for growth, managing strategic partnerships to support Visible Learning initiatives, and executing signature events around department initiatives.

     

    Depth of knowledge of Corwin’s products and services, as well as the overall market conditions and dynamics will be a core requirement. This is a highly visible position that requires strong communication skills, creative thinking, professionalism, and an ability to build relationships both internally and externally.

     

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    Product Development

    • Champions Visible Learning product innovation and business development processes
    • Executes on-going development and execution of the face-to-face business model
    • Liaises with multiple divisions within Corwin and SAGE as the Visible Learning model evolves
    • Develops preliminary profit and loss statements for workshops to support the growth of the business line
    • Executes key roadmap projects and assesses performance to ensure that program goals are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters
    • Creates project proposals to determine the scope, strategy, time frame, budget, development plan and responsibilities, risks, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
    • Coordinates certifications, annual product team meetings, and other additional trainings
    • Assists with coaching certified trainers based on workshop and participant feedback along with scheduling shadowing opportunities
    • Ensures departmental compliance with SAGE processes and methods through facilitating cross-company communication
    • Works with the Marketing and Sales team to develop sales proposals, RFP responses, internal trainings, marketing messaging, and product line pricing
    • Tracks program performance including sales and pipeline performance. Provides input to forecasts; and helps to manage the product line budget
    • Prepares annual product plans for service line thought leaders as well as project reports for all stakeholders. Modifies schedules or plans as required
    • Researches the learning solutions market, identifies trends and opportunities; facilitates interdepartmental communication to gather customer requirements; discovers new market opportunities, and defines product roadmap
    • Provides oversight of the logistics and processes necessary to conduct all face-to-face work in the field with efficiency and supports the certified team with inquiries, updates, and other resources
    • Serves as company representative at Corwin and educational functions such as institutes, association events, national and state conferences, trainings, and client visits
    • Support/lead the Licensee internal Visible Learningplus Quality Assurance processes and requirements for VLP consultants.

    Qualifications & Education

    Includes, but is not limited to, the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university required
    • Budget development and oversight experience
    • Demonstrated ownership of successful product strategies and product roadmaps
    • Demonstrated abilities to research marketplace trends and gather customer requirements
    • Demonstrated business planning and business case development abilities
    • Five years experience in operations, product development, and/or program management required
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills; highly organized and detail oriented
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement special projects
    • Demonstrated excellence in working with others and maintaining a positive working atmosphere for fellow employees
    • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing major projects or initiatives.
    • Broad knowledge of, and experience with, computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as professional learning, web, and social networking tools
