  • Overview

    This internship will learn about publishing in general and also gain hands on experience in an editorial department.


    This internship is paid, part time (20-25 hours per week during normal office hours). This position is expected to start in the fall and extend through the fall semester with the potential to expand into the spring semester. Candidates MUST be current students able to work out of our office in Thousand Oaks, CA (remote work is not permitted).

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:


    • Support department by helping organize and perform tasks related to events the Library Relations & Faculty Outreach team gives to customers
    • Event planning and support, including sending out invites, tracking RSVPs, helping book extra needs like catering or other services
    • Helping manage the SAGE Exchange website
    • Serve as editorial eyes for the Library Relations & Faculty Outreach newsletter
    • Ordering catering and refreshments for training events hosted across the country
    • Prepare and send training materials for on campus training events
    • Assist department personnel in completing projects
    • Help recruit and compile survey information
    • Assist in other general tasks

    Qualifications & Education

    Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

    • Must be a current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university
    • A degree in English, Journalism, or Publishing is preferred
    • Must be comfortable communicating via phone, video conference, and email
    • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Must be a quick learner
