  • Overview

    The Video Production Coordinator focuses on the management of freelance vendors including sourcing and vetting freelance vendors, negotiating rates and contracts, coordinating services, and maintaining relationships. The Coordinator maintains an overview of work requests from Producers and Video Editors and secures resources for animation and video projects (both production and post-production) and other digital media projects. The role requires background in broadcast journalism or film studies as well as project management skills, with the ability to organize, implement, and coordinate multiple video shoots and projects that are requested by the Global Digital Production department.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    • Brief and assess video, audio, and animation production freelance vendors, ensuring that budgets, deadlines, and SAGE’s quality standards are adhered to
    • Source, book, and coordinate video crews as requested by the Producers
    • Prepare detailed purchase orders and contracts
    • Oversee project outlines, schedules, and budgets for freelance vendors, and train vendors in our systems and processes as needed
    • Manage the freelance vendor lists for all media production needs, overseeing the updating and tracking of costs and quality of work
    • Coordinate with freelance vendors to ensure consistency, cost effectiveness, and style requirements are met
    • Alert interested parties about problems and implement solutions for issues with schedules, workload, and quality of vendors
    • Support the Producer team in all aspects to maintain an efficient department by sharing feedback, addressing concerns, and contributing in department meetings
    • Complete other various tasks within the Global Digital Production department as required

    Qualifications & Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
    • One to two years’ experience working with video and video-related content, preferably in the publishing industry
    • Superior project management skills
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills
