  • Overview

    • Responsible for the material handling involved in preparing and shipping SAGE convention orders. Inspects and provides status on SAGE convention equipment/displays upon their return. Maintains the convention office supply inventory. Responsible for coordinating the receipt and shipping of journal issues bound for SAGE India. Prepares and/or updates worksheets and reports to support various Distribution processes. Performs other material handling tasks as requested by the Distribution Manager. Monitors inventory accuracy on a continual basis as support for annual physical inventory. Takes the lead on inventory related special projects.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    • Pick, pack, ship SAGE convention orders.
    • Check in journal and book back orders and insure that they are included with appropriate convention.
    • Insure all equipment, displays, and marketing materials are included with the appropriate convention.
    • Update convention launch memos on a regular and frequent basis.
    • Create shipping labels, returns labels, and bills of lading for conventions.
    • Check in and inspect returned convention equipment.
    • Maintain and update convention equipment inventory list.
    • Maintain inventory levels of convention office supplies and reorder as necessary.
    • Pick, pack, ship SAGE India journal orders.
    • Prepare appropriate shipping documents and notify Manufacturing Department and Customer Service about any shortages.
    • Assist with picking/packing/shipping of non-convention orders as needed.
    • Oversee Material Handlers and Agency staff on a project basis as assigned
    • Audit/Maintain storage locations as needed.
    • Participate in group discussions regarding process improvements and safety issues.

    Qualifications & Education

    Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:


    • High School diploma or equivalent required. AA degree and/or some college preferred.
    • 2 to 4 years experience in inventory control, shipping, receiving, and/or other warehouse activities required.
    • Valid California driver’s license required.
    • Prior certification in driving a forklift/order picker preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
    • Proficiency in using UPS and/or FedEx online shipping systems preferred.
    • Knowledge and understanding of good inventory control principles and procedures preferred.
    • High level of organization and ability to handle multiple tasks with varying priorities.
