Overview

The Corporate Events internship provides clerical and administrative support for a busy Corporate Events and Community Relations department. This position is intended to provide exposure to a variety of areas within corporate events and community relations focusing on overall enhancement of a positive work experience resulting in an optimal experience and a sense of inclusion for our employees.

 

This internship is a paid, part-time (15-25 hours per week Monday-Friday) position for the summer of 2023 with the possibility of extending into the fall semester based on performance and continued interest. This position is considered hybrid and will require the ability to work on-site at our Thousand Oaks, CA office. 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Research vendors to create Request for Proposal (RFP’s) for events
  • Tabulate results from RFP’s and create spreadsheets with data for stakeholders
  • Track and manage RSVP lists for on-site and off-site events
  • Source event related items including, but not limited to party favors, gifts, giveaways, etc.
  • Confirm budget and place orders for décor
  • Produce collateral materials including producing labels, nametags, event attendee listings, and certificates
  • Identify caterers/vendors that align with Sage’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy
  • Organize/Analyze data collected through MS Forms
  • Assist with planning company sponsored functions and local and regional connection events
  • Assist with the set-up and clean-up of in-person functions and events
  • Communicate to internal and external clients and colleagues with a high level of professionalism and positivity
  • Maintain the organization of event files and create new folders as needed
  • Work on special projects and tasks as assigned
  • Print, file, photocopy, and other clerical tasks as needed when on-site
  • Flexibility to work on and off-site at our Thousand Oaks office

Qualifications & Education

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Currently working toward the completion of a degree at an accredited college or university, preferably in event planning, marketing, business, or related fields
  • Prior experience working with internal and external customers preferred
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in the Microsoft suite of products
  • Able to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
  • Prior office experience, or equivalent, preferred

Compensation at Sage is influenced by several factors, including but not limited to skill set, nature and level of experience, qualifications, and other relevant considerations. The part-time hourly amount for this position is $16.00. If your desired salary falls outside of this range, we hope you'll still apply as there may be other positions that better align.
