The Product Manager will help lead the creation and ongoing management of the Research Methods suite of products, for sale into the library market. They will lead projects and products as assigned including market research, product testing, and the definition and delivery of product enhancements, and new product development. They will demonstrate a deep curiosity in all aspects of their products and the market, working diligently to build a strong knowledge of the target users and buyers.   This position is part of the global Product Management Department at SAGE, working in a dynamic part of the business to significantly increase SAGE’s digital product portfolio with a specific focus on our library customers.  Products for the library market at SAGE are developed with external technology partners.

Submission of cover letter required.   The Product Marketing Assistant for Library Marketing is responsible for supporting and executing on directives given by Library Marketing Managers, to benefit strategic Library Marketing Initiatives related to product marketing. This position is expected to complete administrative tasks, assist in projects, and be responsible for designated support efforts, to be completed accurately and on time. This job requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks and be able to deal with varying work styles and requests. We are looking for a candidate that will be able to work, in-house, at our Thousand Oaks Conejo office.

The Editorial Director is responsible for establishing, planning, executing, and reporting on the strategic direction, operations, and financial results (including budgeting and P&L responsibility) for the Corwin publishing program. Corwin focuses on providing professional development books, tools, video, and other resources for pre-service and in-service K12 educators, administrators, and leaders, with special attention given to the areas of educational leadership and administration; curriculum and instruction, with emphasis on literacy and math content areas; professional development design and practice; equity and diversity; teaching methods and pedagogy; assessment and evaluation; and related areas. The Editorial Director is a member of Corwin’s senior leadership team and is accountable for achievement of the editorial key performance indicators (KPIs), product and service development, innovation, and launch, and revenue targets for reporting team members, including program directors, acquisitions editors, and the Director of Publishing Operations. The Editorial Director will work to align the activities of the Publishing team with the Professional Services, Marketing, and Sales team, and will collaborate with Corwin Australia, Corwin Canada, and the SAGE College Division to inform and direct Corwin’s international content strategy.   The scope of this position is as follows:   - Has leadership and management responsibility for Corwin’s Publishing program, which is editorial and content-driven in nature. Responsibility includes direct leadership, management, and growth and development of program directors, acquisitions editors, publishers, and the Director of Publishing Operations as well as the growth and career development of the various team members within and across the Publishing and Professional Learning department. - Works in conjunction with the Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Corwin U.S. and the Vice Presidents of Sales and of Marketing to establish a budget for Corwin that identifies strategic priorities and achieves the company’s overall profit and growth goals for the Press and related digital products. - Has primary responsibility for achieving the Corwin Press revenue projections and expense management. - In managing the publishing team, has oversight in author and consultant recruitment, the creation of launch proposals that have been well vetted for quality and financial viability, contract negotiations, content and service development and project management through to successful launch of all new and revised Corwin books, ancillaries, video, and related products. - Plans editorial-related offsites, workshops, monthly department meetings, strategic planning meetings and special projects as assigned by the Senior Vice President and Managing Director, U.S. - Maintains excellent relations with authors, consultants, and the broader professional learning and education communities. - Collaborates and liaises with the Vice President of Marketing and Channel Sales and other marketing staff to effectively promote Corwin’s publishing products through various marketing activities including printed, web, and email promotions, and conferences. - Collaborates and liaises with the Vice President of Sales and sales managers to support and maximize sales while cultivating excellent client engagement and relations and providing market feedback to editors, authors, consultants, and partners.
